SQUARES
CATALONIA SQUARE
Full of history, life and bustle, Plaza Cataluña may be the busiest place in Barcelona. This typical starting point of tourist visits was inaugurated more than one hundred years ago by king Alfonso XIII.
It is surrounded by six sculptural ensembles that symbolize the four Catalan capitals, wisdom and work. The square acts as a link between the main urban arteries of the city such as Las Ramblas, Paseo de Gracia, Portal del Ángel Avenue and Pelayo street. Don’t miss the panoramic views from the terrace of Corte Inglés shopping centre!
